About Us — Education & Employment

Our Mission & Vision

“Education is a human right with immense power to transform. On its foundation rest the cornerstones of freedom, democracy, and sustainable human development.”
— Kofi Annan, Former UN Secretary General

At First Page Foundation (FPF), we believe that education, employment, and civic engagement are not only fundamental human rights but also essential pillars that uplift communities and nations. As a Ghana-based nonprofit organization, we are deeply committed to reshaping the future of African youth by providing them with the tools they need to thrive in an increasingly competitive and complex world.

We envision a world where every young person, regardless of their background or socio-economic status, is given the opportunity to reach their full potential. We aim to equip them with skills and resources that enable them to confidently shape the future as responsible citizens, innovators, entrepreneurs, and community leaders.

Our Mission

Our mission is rooted in transforming lives through:

  • Comprehensive education programs that empower the youth with knowledge, skills, and values

  • Employment initiatives that bridge the gap between education and the labor market

  • Vocational and technical training that provides practical, hands-on experience

  • Community-based development that uplifts the most vulnerable including orphans, widows, and the physically challenged

  • Health and wellness education that promotes productive and healthy lifestyles

  • Peace-building programs aimed at reducing political violence and ethnic conflict

  • Talent discovery and domestication to harness the full potential of our youth for national growth

Through this holistic approach, FPF ensures that no youth is left behind in the pursuit of personal and collective development.

Our Vision

We envision an Africa where young people are empowered with the skills, knowledge, and opportunities to:

  • Compete effectively in the global job market

  • Become active citizens contributing to democratic governance

  • Innovate solutions to local and international challenges

  • Build sustainable communities from the grassroots level

We are building a future where the next generation does not merely survive but thrives with purpose, pride, and power. FPF is a bridge to this better future, helping youth cross over barriers of poverty, ignorance, and neglect.

What We Do

1. Education Access and Scholarships

FPF sponsors bright but disadvantaged students by paying school fees, providing school uniforms, textbooks, meals, and covering other educational costs. Our aim is to remove every financial obstacle that prevents a child from accessing quality education.

2. Employment and Entrepreneurship Training

Through residential training programs, FPF supports unemployed youth (ages 18-35) with vocational skills, career mentorship, and life coaching. Our centers offer a nurturing space for rebuilding self-confidence and learning market-relevant trades.

3. Health and Social Advocacy

We conduct health outreach programs, train community health educators, and organize workshops to address sexual and reproductive health, hygiene, and mental health among youth. We also engage in advocacy campaigns on drug abuse prevention and gender-based violence.

4. Community Development

We promote peaceful coexistence through initiatives that counter political violence, tribalism, and social division. FPF helps communities implement localized development projects such as borehole construction, classroom rehabilitation, and digital literacy centers.

5. Youth Empowerment

We believe in youth as agents of change. Our programs are designed to:

  • Train young leaders

  • Support small business startups

  • Offer internships and job placements

  • Facilitate global exchange programs and learning opportunities

Our Objectives

  • Reduce unemployment among youth by providing training and employment support

  • Address systemic barriers that prevent access to quality education and job markets

  • Promote peace and security by educating youth against political violence and tribalism

  • Provide humanitarian relief to orphans, widows, and physically challenged individuals

  • Enhance access to justice and build civic awareness through community legal clinics

  • Equip youth with 21st-century skills including digital literacy, problem-solving, and leadership

  • Transform lives by nurturing creativity, confidence, and resilience

  • Support lifelong learning by encouraging entrepreneurship, self-reliance, and innovation

Our Belief

At FPF, we are convinced that every investment in education and employment for youth returns immeasurable dividends to families, communities, and entire nations. Young people, when given the right tools and opportunities, are capable of solving the world’s toughest challenges — from climate change to inequality, from health crises to unemployment.

By shaping young minds today, we are constructing the foundations of a better tomorrow. Join us in our mission to empower the next generation, spark change, and make history.

Our story

From One Page to a Thousand New Beginnings

First Page Foundation was born out of personal struggle, deep empathy, and an unwavering belief in the power of education to change lives.

Our founder, Collins Obeng-Agyare, grew up not in the comfort of a city or a well-resourced school, but following his father—a dedicated teacher—from one rural community to another. Classrooms were sometimes makeshift, school supplies were scarce, and opportunities seemed distant. But from those humble beginnings grew a vision: to ensure that no child would have to face the same barriers to learning and self-development that he once did.

What began as a dream to help “just one child” has blossomed into a movement—a mission to reach hundreds, and eventually thousands—through education, mentorship, skill development, and life-transforming support.

Today, First Page Foundation is dedicated to helping underserved youth in Ghana and across Africa unlock their full potential. We focus on building modern schools, paying tuition and feeding fees, providing uniforms and books, offering vocational and tech-based training, and connecting young people with life-changing job opportunities.

Our mission goes beyond charity—we are building systems, creating structures, and raising leaders who will reclaim Africa’s resources, reframe its narrative, and reshape its future.

This is our story. And it’s only the first page.

Philosophy

Our Philosophy

At First Page Foundation, we believe that every human being is born with the potential to contribute meaningfully to society—regardless of their background, limitations, or circumstances. We see education not just as a pathway to knowledge, but as a bridge to dignity, purpose, and opportunity.

We are guided by the conviction that education is a human right, not a privilege, and that employment is a critical vehicle for personal growth and national development. Our work is rooted in the principle that transforming one life can spark change in a family, a community, and eventually, the world.

We stand with underserved and marginalized individuals—especially the youth, orphans, widows, and those with physical challenges—because we understand that true development begins when no one is left behind. Through structured education, vocational skills training, mentoring, and community upliftment, we aim to rebuild hope, ignite potential, and inspire a generation to rise.

At FPF, we don’t just invest in education; we invest in people, and in the power of human resilience and creativity. We are on a mission to rewrite stories, restore dreams, and shape leaders who will transform nations.
